This semester I have been selected to complete a research fellowship at Gould Evans. According to Gould Evans they "believe partnership is not about compromise. It is the expression of individual talents made manifest through a shared vision. We seek clients who share our values of intellectual curiosity, collaboration and passion for meaningful design outcomes." (http://www.gouldevans.com/studio/lawrence) This statement is their description of their practice, but I think it directly applies to my approach to this research fellowship. I am excited to work in collaboration with Kelly Dreyer on a research project that we are working on outlining currently. I think that the work that we are about to embark on this semester will indeed be an expression of intellectual curiosity and we will be seeking to discover and apply meaningful design outcomes for Gould Evans' clients.
Our work this semester will be a continuation of Spring 2014's Gould Evans Research Studio which investigated data driven design in the workplace. We hope to take what they learned last semester and start to directly apply it to architectural design this semester and see where it leads us.
I will keep a weekly record here of what we are up to, so if you are interested in data driven design check back soon!
